Dear Parent, Guardian and Athlete
My name is António Gonçalves, and I’m the Founder and CEO of OnCamp.
I’m writing this letter to share our mission and the story that inspired it.
Since an early age, I was fortunate to discover a talent: soccer.
Growing up on the small and special island of Madeira (yes, the same as Cristiano Ronaldo) that talent soon began to open doors for me.
By the age of nine, I was already traveling alone to Lisbon to play tournaments with Sporting Clube de Portugal, one of the country’s leading clubs.Over the years, soccer took me far beyond the island — to England, France, the Netherlands, and the United States.
It gave me world: new cultures, new friends, and countless experiences that enriched me as a person. Soccer also brought me close to the very best. I had the chance to train with a Premier League club, learn from international players, and see firsthand how high-performance environments work, where discipline, preparation, and excellence guide every detail, from how we train to how we eat and rest.
Although unexpected challenges kept me from pursuing a professional playing career, the game gave me something far greater. It gave me discipline, resilience, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and many other valuable skills.
These qualities now allow me to work as a Sports Consultant, collaborating with international organizations such as UEFA, the International Olympic Committee, and some of the world’s most respected soccer clubs.
All those years of training, travel, and learning built the foundation for what OnCamp stands for today.
OnCamp was created to offer young athletes the same kind of opportunities that shaped me:
A chance to combine international exposure with a high-performance environment.
Our goal is to help every athlete grow both on and off the field — learning from top professionals, developing strong habits, and gaining the confidence and global mindset to succeed in sport and in life.
At the same time, we aim to provide a unique international experience that helps young players become not only better athletes, but better people, enriched by a unique international experience.
Our team at OnCamp is fully dedicated to creating an outstanding experience. We look forward to connecting with you, getting to know you, and sharing all that we’ve been preparing.
Thank you for taking the time to read.Warm regards,António GonçalvesFounder & CEO, OnCamp
